The current large-scale project of Iberdrola Renovables Deutschland GmbH, which is based in Berlin, is the Baltic Eagle offshore wind farm built around 30 km north of the island of Rügen in the Baltic Sea. Comprising 50 wind turbines with a combined capacity of 476 MW, the wind farm should begin operating at the end of 2024 and can then generate sustainable energy for around 475,000 households.
Iberdrola Renovables is using a two-storey ELA office system in Sassnitz-Mukran directly on the coast of the Baltic Sea as an office to coordinate construction of the farm. From this location, the project is also managed and the sea monitored for the wind farm and ships with around 600 people who work at sea. “We worked with ELA Container to design a tailored construction office for this project, which the company then delivered,” says Peter Ziegler, Construction & Port Manager Baltic Eagle.
“We’ve been active in the offshore and coastal energy industry for many years,” says ELA Project & Sales Manager Silvan Ulusoy.
The ELA system comprises a total of 53 extra-wide ELA office and lounge containers for a combined space of around 950 m². Large windows and LED lighting with a warm, light colour ensure a bright working environment, whilst split air-conditioning and heating units, a fitted kitchen and high-quality office furniture such as desks and swivel chairs offer comfort at the workplace.
