How do you accommodate seven whole school classes in a very short time if there are no rooms available? This was the challenge that a school in Lohne (Germany) had to face. Renovation work on older parts of the building was necessary. At the same time, the work was not to disturb the lessons.
Container as a fast and flexible solution
As there were not enough rooms available despite the renovation in several construction phases, a fast and flexible, yet high-quality solution was required. Requirements that ELA Container can meet excellently with its mobile classrooms.
On-schedule delivery
ELA Container prevailed in the district's public tender and immediately began planning the works. Petra Ahlers, head of the Vechta district's building management office, is very satisfied with the collaboration: "The construction and installation went without a hitch. The classrooms could be used as planned at the beginning of the school year, whereupon the construction work could also be started on schedule". For one and a half years, some of the pupils will temporarily be taught in classrooms in container construction.
Fully equipped classrooms
The facility meets all requirements of the school. Seven classes are accommodated on two floors in the very spacious 480m² container facility, consisting of 32 ELA quality all-rounders. The walls have been reinforced for the school's whiteboards, and LED lights and high-quality air-conditioning units create a pleasant room atmosphere. The school can use its own furniture for the interior design. Radio-networked smoke alarms, fire detectors, fire extinguishers and first aid kits ensure the necessary safety for the students and teaching staff.
More than an emergency solution
As a result of the german federal government's large-scale school refurbishment programme, many schools are currently looking for ways to modernise their premises without impairing the learning environment of their pupils. A concern that ELA Container shares. "Our aim is to offer schools a high-quality space solution that makes pupils and teachers forget that it is only an interim solution," says ELA Area Sales Manager Simon Harenkamp.
